In the Midst of a Challenging Time, There is Possibility

Journey

We’re in a challenging time – in our nation and our world. There’s a great deal of intensity, tension, fear, grief, loss, and anxiety all around us. And sometimes it can be difficult in the middle of that to believe that hope is possible, that good is possible, that healing is possible, both individually and collectively. In the midst of a time like this, maintaining our serenity can be a struggle. Staying grounded and present can be hard.

When the idea for True Self Journey (TSJ) was born, there was no pandemic and the much-needed conversations around race weren’t happening in the way that they are now. However, TSJ is getting off the ground in the middle of all this, and I find that very interesting. I want TSJ to be a place of light and life – something that is sorely needed at this moment in time.

I’ve been committed to my personal growth journey for decades, and I have a deep desire to invite others to embark on their own healing journey. I’ve always wanted to share about the importance of things like self-awareness, connection, and personal growth but the current relational climate has only served to heighten my sense of urgency for bringing people together to heal and grow in life-changing ways. So I think that maybe God is telling me that yes, I’m on the right path at the right time.

My hope is that as you read anything I’ve written, as you listen to or read resources I’ve suggested, that you’ll be encouraged and challenged. That you’ll have a greater awareness of your story and its impact on your everyday life.

For some of you, the things I’m going to be talking about and the way I’m going to be talking about them will sound familiar. If that is the case for you, my hope is that what you’re going to experience with True Self Journey will enrich and enhance the path toward lasting change and deep healing that you’re already on.

For those of you who are new to this way of thinking about life, recovery, and healing, I hope you’ll ask a lot of questions. I hope that you have places in your life where you can think through the things that don’t make sense to you or the things that you don’t agree with. I hope that you will develop a belief that healing really can happen in your life. True healing that lasts and reaches the depth of your soul.

As we journey together, you will read and hear content related to therapy, healing, and personal growth. You’ll come across things that you would expect – i.e., book and podcast recommendations. But maybe you’ll come across things that you don’t expect – something that makes you laugh, art or music that resonates with you, etc.

This is a new adventure for all of us. I’m starting this new journey right alongside you, so we will hopefully grow together. I have a vision for what I want to offer based on my own journey and the journey I’m on with my clients every day. But I know that my current vision for True Self Journey will grow and develop, and that some of what that change looks like will depend on what I hear from you. I want True Self Journey, whether it’s the website or Instagram or wherever else it is that you’re interacting with TSJ, to be helpful and meaningful for you.

Thank you for joining me on this exciting new journey. Wherever you are in your own process of healing and recovery, thank you for being here. I’m incredibly excited about what’s ahead and how things might (or might not) unfold. Wherever our path takes us, I have a great deal of hope in the possibility for healing. I see it every day in my own life, in the lives of my clients, and in the lives of my community. Let’s discover what’s possible together.

Peace on the Journey,

Beth
